We love making films and we enjoy working in the international market. We (Denise Haire & Ian Berry) therefore set up Democracy films almost ten years ago to do exactly that. We pride ourselves on strong creative output, whist offering an innovative approach and fast, friendly, professional production expertise in a rapidly changing multi media market place.
Denise has been in commercials production all her working life, starting at McCann Erickson where she learnt the ropes as a PA to 6 producers and the creative teams. She moved on to join English Connection as a Production Assistant before stepping up to take charge as a Production Manager. She then ran the prestigious Young Guns at Challenge, before starting Foster Haire Productions with Sookie Foster. Her next step was to join West End Central, working with Greg Mills and where she met Ian Berry.
We have a well-earned reputation for making things happen, for producing fine commercials, within tight and consistent budget control, all the while ensuring that cast, crew and agencies involved in her productions consistently enjoy the experience in a way that brings out the best from everyone. We have worked with agencies such as Ogilvy, DDB London, Euro RSCG, Lowe, WCRS, Draftfcb, Grey, JWT, TBWA and many others as well as extensive contacts with agencies and production companies worldwide.
Ian too has been in commercials production all his working life taking his first full time position at West End Central and quickly moving on to become new talent scout and directors rep. He soon found his true calling was for production and began working his way up to Production Manager and eventually Producer when Democracy Films was conceived. Ian loves a challenge and uses his production experience to problem solve with the tenacity of a pitt bull but never without a sense of humor.
